Greater Milwaukee Synod and the ELCA

Lakeside Lutheran Church is a member of the Greater Milwaukee Synod (GMS), a geographic grouping of congregations, extending from Sheboygan down to the Illinois border and from Lake Michigan to the western edge of Waukesha County. The GMS one of 65 synods of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). This synod is made up of 131 congregations and 91,000 baptized members in southeastern Wisconsin led by Bishop Paul D. Erickson and a 17-member synod council.


ELCA Outreach Center

The ELCA Outreach Center (OC) is a spiritually based center for families and individuals around Kenosha's urban neighborhoods. The mission of the ELCA Outreach Center is to share God's love by addressing the needs of children, youth and adults through programs and services that encourage them to become self-sufficient, caring and participating members of the community. In existence since February of 1997, OC is an outreach of eight ELCA Lutheran congregations and is endorsed by the Greater Milwaukee Synod. Many other churches in Kenosha County also support the Center.


Shalom Center

Lakeside is a partner with the Shalom Center of Kenosha, a private, non-profit, social service organization providing a safe and supportive environment to those less fortunate in the Kenosha community. Their mission is to collaboratively serve our community by providing emergency food, shelter, housing and support in ways that meet immediate needs and respect human dignity.


Grace Welcome Center

Lakeside is a partner with the Grace Welcome Center Food Pantry and Breakfast Program. Lakeside has volunteers regularly at the Food Pantry assisting with the weekly food distribution. Volunteers also assist with preparing the Welcome Center Breakfast on the 5th Friday of each month. Lakeside collects warm wishes during advent and shares those with our partner organizations to help the most vulnerable in our community.


Braun's Karate and Martial Arts

BKMA is a martial arts club located at St. John's, teaching peace and discipline through the martial arts since 1996. Students learn a wide range of styles, including karate, aikido, feeding crane, escrima, and more.


Al-Anon

Lakeside is an official meeting place for Al-Anon, a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength and hope in order to solve their common problems. Meetings are Thursdays at 6:30.
